“Utopos” es una metáfora, una forma poética de expresar los interrogantes sobre el universo, sobre la dimensión del tiempo. Un tema no muy original pero que el arte ha cuestionado y continua cuestionando a lo largo de la historia de la cultura. Una pregunta, una curiosidad insatisfecha y la mejor manera de acercarse a la respuesta es con los sentidos, especialmente con el tacto, y con la mirada. La mano representa el aspecto humanizante, la conciencia con la que hay que acercarse al saber, no conquistándolo sino comprendiéndolo. El negro es la oscuridad donde hay que buscar la luz.
“Utopos” is a metaphor, a poetic manner to express ideas about the universe and about time. Not a very original subject but one that art has continued to query all throughout cultural history. Questions, an unsatisfied curiosity and perhaps the best way to get closer to an answer is through the senses, especially touch and seeing. The hand represents the humanizing aspect, the awareness of having to get closer to the knowledge, not overcoming it but understanding it. The black is the darkness where one has to look for the light.
